In his recently published book, Surviving the Dragon: A Tibetan Lama’s Account of 40 Years under Chinese Rule
, he tells the extraordinary survival story of the years he spent in Tibet during the Cultural Revolution. His Holiness the Dalai Lama helped him to escape and made him abbot of the Tibetan Mongolian Buddhist Cultural Center in Bloomington, Indiana, which is dedicated to interfaith harmony.
Rinpoche will be speaking at UTK, Carpe Librum Booksellers, and TVUUC in Knoxville. All the events are free.
